Fleurie

Terroirs

The general Beaujolais region, named after the town of Beaujeu, is about 400 km (just under 300 miles) South/South-East of Paris. Village appellations are the highest ranking wines in the Beaujolais area, known here as the "crus". The vineyards cover a total of 800 hectares. Fleurie is often considered the most feminine of the Beaujolais "crus".

Tasting

Bright cherry red with good intensity.
Cherry, raisins, raspberry, flowers (carnations), spice.
Fruity, cherry and raspberry flavours. A well-balanced wine. Fleurie is liked for its smoothness.

Food Matching

Grilled meats, poultry, cheeses (not too strong), and leg of lamb à la Beaujolaise (in red wine... Beaujolais of course!).
